Food Diet For Acid Reflux

Food Diet For Acid Reflux Heartburn In The First Trimester

How to manage reflux disease

Gastroesophageal reflux disease is one of the most common digestive disorders. It is a condition where stomach acid refluxes upward into the esophagus.

Usually, the acid in your stomach is retained by a muscular valve at the end of the esophagus, known as the lower esophageal sphincter. The LES is supposed to remain closed, except when swallowing. If it opens at other times, stomach acid can flow upward (reflux) into the esophagus, causing heartburn. Typical symptoms include an uncomfortable feeling of burning, warmth, heat or pain just behind the breastbone, which is commonly referred to as heartburn. Other symptoms can include nausea, increased belching, regurgitation of food and even chronic cough.

Occasional heartburn does not necessarily mean you have reflux disease. In GERD, the symptoms last longer and occur more often.

OPAS Guild to host Blood, Sweat & Tears

Allsup and Jimmy Greenspoon to form Three Dog Night, Negron picked most of the songs, starting with Harry Nilsson's One (Is The Loneliest Number). And it is Negron's voice on Easy to Be Hard, Old Fashioned Love Song and Joy to the World.

Drug abuse tore the group apart, and it disbanded in 1977. Negron described his battle with addiction in the book Three Dog Nightmare and became a leader in the anti-drug movement.

The same year that Three Dog Night made its first record, Al Kooper and Steve Katz, former members of the Blues Project, were putting together a band that would combine brass with strings. By the time that group recorded its self-titled second album, Blood, Sweat & Tears, the line-up had changed. Katz was still there, Kooper was gone, and David Clayton-Thomas had joined as lead vocalist.

Scientists study hip fracture causes

BOSTON, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- U.S. scientists say policies limiting sedative prescriptions based on older studies of hip fracture causes might need to be revised.

The study by researchers at the Harvard Medical School and Harvard's Pilgrim Health care suggests use of the sedative Benzodiazepine is not associated with hip fractures.

Previous epidemiological studies suggesting such an association have been used to support legislation and policy decisions limiting access to such drugs by elderly patients.

Benzodiazepines are sedative drugs prescribed for anxiety, sleep, and seizure disorders. Concerns about abuse, misuse, and adverse effects of the drugs -- including hip fractures among the elderly -- have prompted state and national policies intended to regulate access to them.
